Not So Smiley Mangoha Changes KCPE and KCSE
Deputy Director Olive Mbuthia of Kenya Institute Of Curriculum Development (KICD) which is under Ministry of Education led by no nonsense Professor George Magoha has disclosed that for the first time National exams( KCPE and KCSE) will be set according to syllabus covered, unlike other years where KNEC has been setting from the whole syllabus. This comes as a relief to the good number of students who could not access online learning due to economic challenges. KICD has reaffirmed Ministry's position that national exams will continue as planned and the only changes is that it will cover syllabus covered.
This comes after Education CAS Jack Kinuthia disclosed that government will try to cover the time lost by reducing August holiday as much time has been lost during Covid-19 pandemic stay at home order. This means that government is aware that for sure there is no much learning taking place at home, even to those who have access to internet connections and TVs. And much will be need to be done in schools
