Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Sunday 26 claimed that Deputy President William Ruto was the only senior politician who showed support and loyalty to president Uhuru Kenyatta over the years.
The vocal legislator cited that when the first in command joined Parliament through nomination, Ruto was the only person who convinced Mark Too to step down for Uhuru to be nominated.
He also recalled that Ruto was the only politician who stuck with Uhuru in 2002 when Raila, Kalonzo and others jumped from KANU and opposed Kenyatta who was the preferred successor by the then president, late Mzee Moi.
According to Kuria, the DP also sacrificed for Uhuru Kenyatta for his Presidential ambition when the likes of Mudavadi and Kalonzo were not interested to sacrifice for the fourth president of Kenyan.
The tangatanga member also alleged that DP Ruto was approached by their political rivals to ditch his boss but the second in command chose to stick with him.
Concerning the handshake between Uhuru and ODM leader, Kuria stated that the former premier had tried to reach to Ruto four times but always reported to the president.
There have been a fallout between the ruling jubilee's party leaders which has left Ruto on a standstill on his 2022 Presidential elections despite Uhuru promising him his full support before he clinched power in 2013.
